Mitsotakis Responds to Samaras: 'Let Professionals Worry Not Be Disturbed'

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis responded to criticisms from former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras regarding the energy agreement with Chevron, during the cabinet meeting. Mitsotakis emphasized that Greece is exercising its sovereign rights in practice, transforming the country into a key hub for natural gas distribution in Central and Eastern Europe. He dismissed the criticism as a "defeatist mania" and highlighted that only Turkey and Samaras are reacting to the country's national course. He also emphasized the importance of the bilateral strategic relationship with the US, referring to the Foreign Minister's visit to Washington. Mitsotakis concluded that utilizing the country's resources and consolidating its rights does not undermine the homeland, but rather petty questioning does.
