Fire Breaks Out in Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) Meter and Transformer Room in Pyla

An alarm was triggered in Pyla, Larnaca, on Tuesday evening when a fire broke out in a meter and transformer room belonging to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). The Oroklini Fire Station responded immediately with two vehicles and managed to bring the fire under control within approximately 40 minutes. The room sustained extensive damage from the fire and heat, while the exterior paintwork was also affected. The fire was caused by a short circuit, and an EAC crew proceeded to cut off the electricity supply to ensure safety.
