Outcry in Larnaca Following Complaints of Patient Deaths at Local Hospital

An outcry is brewing in Larnaca following repeated complaints of inadequate care and patient deaths at the city's general hospital. A team from the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) is at the hospital to investigate the complaints, while the organization's legal department is reviewing the findings of the first investigation regarding the death of a 42-year-old patient. The Cyprus Federation of Patient Associations (OSAK) is calling for the appointment of an independent investigator for the Larnaca hospital, expressing serious concern over the complaints. OSAK is urging the Ministry of Health to conduct a detailed investigation into the conditions of hospitalization and healthcare services at the hospital, as well as its staffing. The Pancyprian Association of State Doctors (PASYKI) is calling for calm, warning against premature conclusions and public targeting of healthcare professionals before any official investigation. PASYKI emphasizes that the complaints are reports from third parties and do not constitute proven facts.
