Iran Postpones Funeral of Supreme Leader Due to Unprecedented Crowds

Iran has postponed the funeral ceremony of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which was originally scheduled for tonight in Tehran, due to the ongoing crisis and massive Israeli-American attacks. The decision was made due to the expected huge turnout and the need for adequate infrastructure. The new date will be announced later. The postponement is linked to the continued bombings in Tehran by the US and Israel, which are targeting military and government infrastructure. At the same time, Iran is in the process of appointing a new Supreme Leader, despite Israel's warning that any successor will be a target. The Assembly of Experts, the body responsible for electing a new leader, is close to a decision, but the state of war may delay the process. The headquarters of the Assembly was attacked yesterday. Iran officially began the transition process after the death of Khamenei, who had ruled the country since 1989.
