Turkey to Acquire 56 Eurofighter Typhoons by 2028

The Turkish Air Force is revising its plans for the Eurofighter Typhoon, aiming to acquire a total of 56 fighter jets by 2028. The initial plan included the procurement of 44 aircraft, but it is being expanded with the acquisition of 12 additional Eurofighter Tranche 3s from Qatar. Personnel training will take place in the United Kingdom, with the first delegation visiting Koningsby in February. Furthermore, Turkey plans to acquire 12 used aircraft from Oman, which will be modernized in the UK, as well as 20 new Tranche 4 aircraft from the UK, with deliveries starting in 2028. Turkey will initially have 24 Eurofighters, with the number gradually increasing to 56 over the next 3-4 years. This agreement significantly strengthens Turkey's defense capabilities.
