Changes in the Operation of Imaging Centers

The Parliament has approved legislation to regulate the operation of imaging centers, aiming to strengthen supervision, ensure the quality of services, and protect patients. The bill establishes rules for licensing, control, and supervision of centers, while amendments were made to clarify procedures and improve the quality of services. The bill introduces new terms and definitions, such as “administrative manager,” “regular working hours,” and “dose management system (DMS).” The operation of imaging centers without a physical radiologist is limited, except in cases within a hospital or free public health programs. The licensing requirements are strengthened, requiring the submission of an organizational chart and a staff list, as well as the presence of a scientifically responsible doctor with two years of experience. The installation of a radiation dose management system (DMS) with annual quality control and data retention for ten years is mandatory. The competent authority gains enhanced powers of control and enforcement, including the revocation of the operating license. The bill aims to improve patient safety and the quality of services provided, as well as enhance the transparency and accountability of imaging centers.
