Four More Arrests in Paphos Premeditated Murder Case

The Cyprus Police have made four additional arrests in connection with the investigation into the premeditated murder of the 41-year-old in Paphos. The suspects, aged 34, 31, 25, and 28, are charged with conspiracy, aggravated assault, malicious damage, possession of a weapon to cause terror, and possession of an offensive weapon. They are expected to be formally charged in writing and released pending summons. A 29-year-old, who was already held in eight-day custody, is charged with premeditated murder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and aggravated assault. According to the Police, the bloody incident is linked to personal disputes that arose from posts on social media. The victim, a Bulgarian national, was taken to hospital with a knife stuck in his abdomen but succumbed to his injuries. Authorities discovered that the individuals involved had travelled from Limassol to Paphos to resolve a misunderstanding, which however escalated into a fight and the murder. During questioning, the 29-year-old admitted to stabbing the victim but claimed he did not intend to kill him. The investigation is ongoing, and the Police are examining all possible aspects of the case to determine the exact circumstances of the murder and assign responsibility.
