Η Παγκύπρια Συντεχνία Αστικών Ταξί ΠΟΑΤ ανακοίνωσε ότι αποφασίστηκε η αναβολή της προγραμματισμένης για αύριο, 27 Ιανουαρίου 2026, απεργίας, ενόψει της σημερινής συνάντησης με το Τμήμα Οδικών Μεταφορών και των επαφών που ακολουθούν με τον νέο πρόεδρο και τα μέλη της Κοινοβουλευτικής Επιτροπής Μεταφορών, καθώς και με την Αρχή Αδειών.
Σύμφωνα με τη συντεχνία, η απόφαση λήφθηκε ως ένδειξη καλής θέλησης, μέχρι να ολοκληρωθεί ο κύκλος των επαφών με τους αρμόδιους φορείς. Όπως αναφέρεται, μετά το πέρας των συναντήσεων θα συγκληθεί άμεσα συνεδρίαση, κατά την οποία θα αξιολογηθούν τα δεδομένα και θα ληφθούν οι τελικές αποφάσεις.

Taxi Strike Postponed in Cyprus – POAT Announcement

The Pan-Cypriot Taxi Association (POAT) announced the postponement of the planned strike for January 27, 2026. This decision comes ahead of today's meeting with the Department of Road Transport and ongoing discussions with the new president and members of the Parliamentary Transport Committee, as well as the Licensing Authority. POAT describes the postponement as a sign of goodwill, awaiting the completion of consultations with relevant authorities. A meeting will be convened immediately after the discussions to evaluate the data and make final decisions regarding the strike.
