Auditions for Thoc's Summer Production of Euripides' "Ion"

The Cyprus Theatre Organisation (Thoc) is announcing auditions for its summer production of Euripides' "Ion", directed by Thomas Moschopoulos. The organisation is looking for male and female professional actors, graduates of drama schools, with good singing and movement skills. Knowledge of a musical instrument will be highly appreciated. Interested parties are invited to send their CV and a recent photo to [email protected] by February 18, 2026. The selection will be based on CVs, and selected actors will be invited to auditions in two phases, on March 6-7 and 8-9, 2026, where they will be sent material for preparation. According to a decision by the Thoc Board of Directors, actors are prohibited from being simultaneously employed in more than one of its theatre productions if there is a temporal overlap in rehearsals or performances. This is to ensure the smooth operation of the productions, avoid conflicts of obligations, and protect the artistic quality. The employment period is expected to last from mid-April to July 2026 and then from late August to early September 2026. The announcement specifies that actors must be fully available during this period, recognizing the importance of commitment to the production. The auditions represent a significant opportunity for Cypriot actors to participate in a major Thoc production, bringing Euripides' classic work to the public with a fresh approach.
