AKEL Criticizes Administrative Chaos at Deputy Ministry of Culture Following Papageorgiou's Appointment

AKEL is denouncing serious administrative chaos at the Deputy Ministry of Culture, which is affecting the evaluation of proposals for the “CULTURE III” program. According to the announcement, the evaluation should have been completed by January 30, 2026, but as of late February, the Evaluation Committees have not yet been established. This delay is causing problems for cultural organizations, as it hinders their planning and securing of resources. AKEL also points to a general delay in decision-making and the implementation of cultural initiatives, attributing the situation to institutional pathologies and a lack of leadership following the appointment of a new Director-General. The party calls for the immediate establishment of the Evaluation Committees and transparency in the process.
