AKEL Calls for Full Transparency in Allocation of Turkish Cypriot Properties and Subsidies

The House Refugee Committee discussed today the implementation of new regulations for the allocation of Turkish Cypriot properties, as well as issues related to agricultural plot subsidies and the Takta Kala refugee settlement. Committee President Nikos Kettiros called for full transparency in the allocation of points and the rental process, as well as monitoring the maintenance of homes in the Takta Kala settlement. He expressed concern over large rent increases for certain properties, while also referring to delays in the payment of subsidies to farmers. The Committee will continue to monitor the progress of the procedures and seek to ensure the rights of displaced persons.
