Paphos Tourism Authority Optimistic About Recovering Potential Losses, Focus on Quality Upgrade

The President of the Paphos Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), Michalis Mitas, expresses optimism that any potential losses in tourism due to the current situation will be recovered in the coming months. Despite the challenges, Cyprus remains a safe and fully functional tourist destination. The goal for 2026 is to qualitatively upgrade the tourism product of Paphos, with an emphasis on air connectivity diversification, strengthening thematic forms of tourism (sports, weddings, wellness, agritourism), and digital upgrading. Problems affecting the sector include seasonality, inadequate public transport, staff shortages, limited water availability, and high operating costs.
