IMF Optimistic About Germany – Revises Forecasts

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised its growth forecasts for the German economy upwards. It now expects GDP to increase by 1.1% in 2026, 0.2 percentage points more than previously forecast in October, and further growth of 1.5% in 2027. This revision places Germany in a better position compared to previous predictions, but remains more conservative than the estimates of the German government. The IMF estimates that Germany will grow faster than Japan and Italy, and slightly faster than France, signaling an improvement in its economic position relative to other G7 countries.
