Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) Employees to Stage Three-Hour Strike

Employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) have announced a three-hour work stoppage for Wednesday, March 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., protesting the serious problems facing the EAC and the electricity sector. The unions warn of an escalation of measures if their positions are not heard by the government. In their letter to the Board of Directors, the unions point out the lack of strategic planning by the state and the procrastination of the competent authorities, which have negative consequences for consumers and the economy. They believe that the government is wasting time on unfounded proposals instead of ensuring adequate electricity supply, security of supply, and support for consumers.
