«Έφυγε» Andreas Kalatzis - A Doctor with Ethos and Professionalism

The well-known cardiologist Andreas Kazantzis from Limassol has passed away. Kazantzis is considered a pioneer in cardiology in Cyprus, as he introduced new diagnostic methods to Limassol in 1976, contributing significantly to the development of medicine in the city. The late doctor studied medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on a scholarship from the World Health Organization and specialized in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. His academic career led him to the presidency of the Cyprus Cardiology Society from 1987 to 1988. Kazantzis' contribution to cardiology and medicine in general was repeatedly recognized and honored. He stood out for his ethos and professionalism, serving as an example for younger colleagues. His death has caused grief in the medical community, as well as among his family and friends. His legacy as a doctor and human being will remain alive in Cyprus.
