Στην σύλληψη ενός προσώπου ηλικίας 41 ετών, προχώρησαν χθες μέλη της ΥΚΑΝ στην Λευκωσία, στο πλαίσιο διερευνώμενης υπόθεσης που αφορά την εισαγωγή εφτά περίπου κιλών κάνναβης.
Συγκεκριμένα, κατά τον μήνα Φεβρουάριο, αφίχθηκε στην Κύπρο μέσω εταιρείας ταχυμεταφορών, πακέτο το οποίο περιείχε περί τα εφτά κιλά κάνναβη. Κατά την διερεύνηση της υπόθεσης, εξασφαλίστηκε μαρτυρία και κατ’ επέκταση δικαστικό ένταλμα σύλληψης εναντίον 41χρονου.
Αυτός συνελήφθη χθες το απόγευμα, ενώ σε έρευνα που ακολούθησε στην οικία του εντοπίστηκαν και κατασχέθηκαν, μικρή ποσότητα κάνναβης, κινητά τηλέφωνα καθώς και άλλα τεκμήρια τα οποία θα τύχουν των ενδεδειγμένων εξετάσεων.
Ο 41χρονος τέθηκε υπό κράτηση ενώ αναμένεται εντός της ημέρας να παρουσιαστεί ενώπιον του Επαρχιακού Δικαστηρίου Λευκωσίας, για σκοπούς έκδοσης διατάγματος προσωποκράτησης του.

Cyprus: 41-Year-Old Arrested with 7kg of Cannabis
Members of the Cyprus Drug Squad (YKAN) arrested a 41-year-old man in Nicosia, as part of an investigation into the import of approximately 7 kilograms of cannabis into Cyprus. The package containing the cannabis arrived in Cyprus via a courier company in February. During the investigation, evidence was secured and an arrest warrant was issued against the 41-year-old. A search of the suspect's home revealed and confiscated a small amount of cannabis, mobile phones, and other evidence. The 41-year-old has been detained and is expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court to issue a detention order. The YKAN continues its investigation into the case, examining all aspects of the import and trafficking of cannabis. The arrest is part of the police's efforts to combat the illegal drug trade in Cyprus. The case is under investigation and further developments are expected as investigations progress and seized evidence is analyzed.
