A 4-year-old girl who was critically ill with the flu (Type A) at Makarios Hospital in Cyprus has passed away on Monday afternoon. This news comes during a period of increased concern about the spread of the flu in Cyprus. The Cyprus Public Health Service (OKYPY) confirmed that a total of 14 deaths have been recorded since the beginning of the current epidemic season, including the tragic case of the 4-year-old girl. The girl's condition was particularly critical from the start of her hospitalization. Despite the doctors' efforts, her health deteriorated rapidly, leading to the tragic outcome. The news has caused shock and sadness in society. The authorities remind the importance of preventive care, such as flu vaccination, especially for vulnerable groups such as young children, the elderly, and people with underlying medical conditions. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly reduce the risk of serious complications and death.
