Cyprus Misinformation Research: How Exposed Are You? VOTE

MC Media is launching an initiative to combat misinformation in Cyprus, prompted by the increase in fake news, particularly in relation to the situation in the Middle East. The initiative includes research by Analytica Market Research to determine the level of Cypriot exposure to fake news and their ability to recognize it. The research results will be published on March 19th, designated as 'Truth Day'. On this day, MC Media's digital platforms will be dedicated to informing the public about misinformation, with special features, analyses, and the replacement of advertising banners with informative messages. Simultaneously, a public event will be held in Limassol on the topic of 'Media and Artificial Intelligence: The Battle for Truth – The Challenge of Accurate Information in the New Digital Age', with Ben Reininga from Harvard University and POLITICO as a speaker. The Analytica Market Research survey will also use online voting, following international standards and using platforms with advanced controls to prevent multiple submissions and identify suspicious activity. The goal is to collect reliable data for a better understanding of the phenomenon of misinformation in Cyprus. This initiative highlights the importance of responsible reporting and critical thinking in the digital age, as well as the need to strengthen journalistic ethics and transparency in providing information.
