Heart Attack Misdiagnosis: €468,000 Awarded for Medical Negligence – Dispute over Who Pays

A medical negligence case has ended in the Supreme Court, resulting in a clinic and a doctor being ordered to pay €468,181 plus interest in damages. The case involved a patient who suffered a heart attack in the morning, but was not diagnosed until the evening, resulting in permanent heart damage of 30%-40%. The court ruled that the electrocardiogram taken was not properly evaluated, and the delay in diagnosis led to serious damage to the patient's health. The clinic was found liable for the negligence of its doctors, while the gastroenterologist was assigned a contribution of 25% for failing to examine the electrocardiogram. Both sides appealed, but the Supreme Court upheld the original decision.
