Police officers from the 'Equality' union are protesting outside Parliament over changes being promoted to their working hours. The officers accuse the government of unilateral decisions that affect their labor rights and finances, without consulting them. They express their outrage over the reduction of rest days and the increase in work pressure. The President of 'Equality', Nikos Loizidis, stated that the protest is a result of the unjustified intervention in their working conditions, while also expressing his satisfaction with the unity shown by the police officers. He accused the Chief of Police of promoting the changes without dialogue. Members of Parliament and representatives of political parties arrived at the scene to express their support for the police officers. From the DISY party, Giorgos Karoullas emphasized the need to consider the views of police officers when legislating changes, while Nikos Georgiou expressed concern about the way the Chief of Police proceeded with the changes. Sotiris Ioannou from ELAM pledged to change the decision, while Morfakis Solomonidis from EDEK condemns the unilateral decisions.
