EU Expresses Concern Over Situation in Greenland

The European Union is expressing strong concern over developments in Greenland following threats from former US President Donald Trump. The European Council, which convened in an emergency session, has not reached a common proposal to address the situation. Several member states want a reaction to Trump's threats, but Hungary did not take a position during the COREPER meeting. The Presidency of the EU Council is trying to initiate an informal discussion with countries that have closer ties to the US, such as Italy, without backing down from key positions. Possible decisions include assigning the European Commission to study countermeasures that could be implemented if Trump's threats materialize.
