One MP, Two Committees: Scheduling Conflicts in Parliament

Following Irene Charalambidou's departure from AKEL and her independence, Giorgos Koukoumas will assume the presidency of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights. A problem arises with Koukoumas' replacement, as Aristos Damianou, who is appointed as the substitute, also participates in the Finance Committee, which meets at the same time. The phenomenon of MPs simultaneously participating in committees that convene in parallel appears to be a common practice.
