Livadi Akrotiri Closed to Protect Rare Cattle from Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Livadi Akrotiri, an area with marshes and reedbeds, has been closed to the public as a precautionary measure to protect rare native cattle from foot-and-mouth disease. The decision was made by the Veterinary Services and announced by the Kourion Municipality. The road to Livadi is closed and will remain so until further notice. Access to the area's orchards is via an alternative route. Livadi Akrotiri is known for the presence of the cattle, which contribute to the sustainable management of the area and the preservation of biodiversity.
