Mexico President Calls for Calm After Drug Lord's Death

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has called for calm after the death of drug lord Nemesio Oseguera, known as 'El Mencho', in a military operation. Oseguera's death has triggered retaliatory acts by cartel members in various Mexican states, with road blockades and arson of businesses. The United States has warned its citizens in Mexico to remain in safe shelters. Airlines have canceled flights to certain areas of Mexico. The United States contributed to the operation that led to Oseguera's death, through a newly established Pentagon agency specializing in collecting information on drug cartels.
