Agricultural organizations in Cyprus have decided to temporarily suspend the protests they had planned for Monday, following a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Maria Panagiotou. The meeting, initiated by the Minister, addressed the issues that had prompted the protests. In a joint statement, the organizations stated that the exchange of views was constructive and that time was given to the competent services to resolve the problems. The Minister of Agriculture took the initiative for the meeting, accepting the request of the agricultural organizations. The meeting was attended by officials from various government departments, such as KOAP, the Department of Agriculture, the Ministry of Interior, the Land Registry, and the Turkish Cypriot Property Administration. The agricultural organizations thank the Minister and the officials of the state services for their cooperation and response to their requests. It is noted that prior to the meeting, the Ministers of Agriculture and Interior had met with the KOAP Commissioner. According to information, all necessary actions from the state departments had been completed before the meeting, which facilitated the problem-solving process and led to the postponement of the protests. This postponement provides time for further discussions and finding solutions.
