Την απόφαση του να αποσύρει την υποψηφιότητα του με την Άμεση Δημοκρατία στην Πάφο, γνωστοποίησε ο Αλφέρδος Αλφέρδου, επικαλούμενος πνευματικούς και άλλους λόγους.
Συγκεκριμένα, σε ανάρτηση του στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης αναφέρει:
«Ήθελα να σας ενημερώσω ότι εκτός από τους πνευματικούς λόγους που με οδήγησαν να αποσύρω την υποψηφιότητά μου με το κόμμα της Άμεσης Δημοκρατίας, ένας άλλος βασικός λόγος είναι ότι κουράστηκα να κάνω τον καραγκιόζη μέσα από τα βίντεο για να προσελκύσω ψηφοφόρους, όπως γίνεται σήμερα στο πολιτικό σύστημα από όλες τις πολιτικές παρατάξεις».

Την θέση του αναμένεται να αναλάβει η Ασπασία Χριστοδούλου, ως η πρώτη επιλαχούσα στην επαρχία Πάφου.
Second Candidate Withdraws from Direct Democracy Party
A second candidate for MP from the Direct Democracy party, Alfredos Alferdos, has announced his withdrawal from the ballot in Paphos. Mr. Alferdos cites spiritual and personal reasons, as well as his disappointment with the need to create a “caricature” to attract voters through videos, as he says, happens throughout the political system. In his post on social media, Mr. Alferdos expresses his tiredness of “playing the fool” to attract voters. His position on the ballot is expected to be filled by Aspasia Christodoulou, the first substitute candidate in the province of Paphos. This withdrawal comes shortly after the announcement of the withdrawal of another candidate from the party, suggesting possible internal disagreements or problems. Direct Democracy has not yet commented on the successive withdrawals.
