‘I Changed School to Avoid Christos’ – Heartbreaking Letter About Bullying – Argyros and Gilfoil Join Yianis Cristodoulou Foundation’s Initiative

The Yianis Cristodoulou Foundation is launching the ‘Together We Stop Bullying’ competition in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Mediterranean Hospitality Venture (MHV), aiming to raise awareness and address bullying in schools. This initiative comes in response to the fact that one in five children in Cyprus is a victim of bullying. The competition calls on students of all levels to create short videos on the topic of combating school bullying. The six best entries will be awarded with projects worth a total of €100,000 for their schools. The initiative is supported by celebrities such as singer Konstantinos Argyros and US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle. A heartbreaking letter from a 10-year-old student, who was forced to change schools to escape bullying, is particularly moving. This letter highlights the urgent need to protect children from bullying and provide support to those who experience it. The founder of the Foundation, John Christodoulou, emphasized the importance of the initiative and the need for cooperation from all stakeholders to address the problem. This initiative is an important step towards creating a safe and supportive school environment for all children in Cyprus.
