Panayiotou Denies Knowledge of European Public Prosecutor's Office Investigation

MEP Fidias Panayiotou states he is unaware of any investigation by the European Public Prosecutor's Office against him regarding the possible misappropriation of European funds. The investigation began following complaints to the Anti-Corruption Authority concerning the rental of a villa in Limassol as “offices” at a monthly cost of 5-6 thousand euros, and its use as a holiday home. The Anti-Corruption Authority has forwarded the evidence to the European Public Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting the investigation. Mr. Panayiotou announced that he will publicly address the matter through a video on his social media accounts.
