Zelensky: Druzhba Pipeline Could Be Operational in a Month and a Half

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Druzhba oil pipeline, which was damaged by a Russian attack in January, could be ready to operate again in approximately a month and a half, from a technical point of view. The CEO of Naftogaz, Serhiy Koretskyi, reported that the main pumping station was damaged during the attack. Zelensky added that Ukraine is willing to share its experience in protecting oil infrastructure in the Middle East, amid the escalation of the conflict with Iran. This was highlighted at a meeting in Kyiv, where requests for defensive assistance against drones were also discussed. The statement comes at a time of increased concern about energy security and the potential impact of geopolitical tensions on global energy markets. Bringing Druzhba back into operation could help stabilize oil supplies. Ukraine has been at the center of energy challenges due to the war with Russia, and offering assistance to protect energy infrastructure in other regions underscores its commitment to regional stability.
