XM Limassol Marathon 2026: Cyprus' Biggest Sporting Event Returns

The countdown has begun for the XM Limassol Marathon 2026, supported by XM as the title sponsor. The event, taking place on March 21st and 22nd, is expected to attract over 17,000 runners from 68 countries, establishing Limassol as a hub for the international running community. The marathon is not just a sporting event, but also a social initiative, as it collaborates with the Pan-Cypriot Multiple Sclerosis Association this year to support individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis. The Mayor of Limassol, Yannis Armeftis, emphasized the importance of the marathon for promoting the city as a sports destination. The Co-CEO of XM, Stavri Morti, stated that supporting the marathon is an honor for the company and an investment in the Limassol community. The President of the XM Limassol Marathon, Spyros Spyrou, highlighted the multi-faceted nature of the event and its importance for society, the economy, and sports. Runners will have the opportunity to contribute financially to the Pan-Cypriot Multiple Sclerosis Association during registration, while the President of the Association, Georgia Dimofanos, emphasized that this support will strengthen the services offered to people with Multiple Sclerosis, such as physiotherapy and psychological support programs. The local community is actively involved in the event, with students from the American Academy Limassol contributing to the preparations of the cheering points. Furthermore, McDonald’s Cyprus supports the children's race of the event, believing that sports and participation cultivate important values. The collaboration between the marathon, XM, the Pan-Cypriot Multiple Sclerosis Association, and the local community highlights the importance of the event as a major sporting celebration with a social impact.
