Work Experience Week Returns to Cypriot High Schools – Second-Year Students to Participate

The Work Experience Week, a program that previously allowed second-year high school students to spend a week working in a field of their choice, is returning after a 12-year hiatus. The program was discontinued in 2013 but is being reintroduced with the aim of bridging the gap between education and the job market, as outlined in the Recovery and Resilience Plan. This year, 5,925 students will participate, spending three days in workplaces and the remaining two days attending presentations by professionals. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Education's effort to provide students with practical experience and help them explore potential career paths. Parents are encouraged to assist in finding work placements for their children, while the Ministry will cover the needs of those who are unable to secure a position. Working hours will be limited to 1:35 PM.
