Yesterday evening, around 6:20 PM, Limassol police received reports of a shooting incident at a residential property. A 26-year-old man and his 25-year-old partner reside at the property. Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple was engaged in maintaining a hunting rifle belonging to the 25-year-old woman when the firearm discharged under unclear circumstances. As a result of the shooting, the 25-year-old woman sustained a leg injury. She was immediately transported by ambulance to a private hospital in Limassol and subsequently to Nicosia, where she was admitted for treatment. Her condition remains undisclosed. The 26-year-old man was arrested based on a court warrant and is currently in custody for further investigation. Police are investigating the case for illegal possession of a firearm, negligent and reckless acts, and the injury to the 25-year-old woman. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department continues its investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting and clarify responsibilities.
