Wolt delivery riders in Cyprus, focusing on Limassol, have begun multi-day strike actions, protesting low wages and lack of safety. The strikers claim that wages do not cover fuel and vehicle maintenance costs, while they face incidents of racist violence, attacks, and vandalism. According to the strikers, individuals attacked the riders during a rally in Limassol, aiming to intimidate them. Their demands include an increase in the fee per delivery and improved safety conditions, especially during night shifts. Wolt condemns all forms of violence and states that it is in dialogue with the riders to resolve the problems. The company states that it cooperates with more than 3,000 riders in Cyprus and that a collective agreement has been in effect since July 2024 for those working through third-party companies.
