What Really Happened to Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370? Five Scenarios for the Disappearance

The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 remains one of aviation's greatest mysteries, eleven years after the event. Despite extensive searches in the Indian Ocean and surrounding areas, no significant evidence has been found to explain the fate of the aircraft and its 239 passengers and crew members. A new search is scheduled to begin in December 2023 by Ocean Infinity, focusing on the seabed of the Indian Ocean, west of Australia. An aviation security expert has presented five possible scenarios for the disappearance. The most discussed is the potential suicide of the pilot, Zaharie Shah, who allegedly disabled communication systems and caused cabin depressurization, leading passengers to hypoxia. He would then have flown the aircraft along the Malaysia-Thailand border to avoid radar. However, the official report found no evidence to support psychological problems or changes in the pilot's behavior. Also, the ability of the co-pilot, Fariq Abdul Hamid, to execute such a complex plan is questioned, given his limited experience with the Boeing 777. Other scenarios include an attempt to hijack the aircraft by the pilot, a hijacking by a passenger or crew member, and a cyberattack to remotely control the aircraft. The cyberattack theory, although controversial, is based on a Boeing patent for a remote aircraft control system. However, there is no evidence to support the use of such a system in the case of MH370. The mystery remains unsolved, and the new search by Ocean Infinity may shed light on new evidence that will help reveal the truth.
