Weather on the Menu: Rain, Snow, Strong Winds and Dust

The Cyprus Meteorological Service forecasts that the weather will be a mix of rain, snow, strong winds, and dust. Sparse dust is already being observed in the atmosphere intermittently. Today, the weather will be mainly cloudy with local showers, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms in the afternoon. Winds will be blowing from northeast to southeast, moderate to strong (4-5 Beaufort), but in exposed areas will be strong to very strong (5-6 Beaufort) and temporarily gale-force (6-7 Beaufort). The sea will be up to wavy. The temperature will rise to 12 degrees Celsius inland, around 15 degrees on the coast, and 4 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost is expected. Tonight, the weather will remain mainly cloudy with local showers and possible thunderstorms. Snow or sleet is expected on the highest peaks of the Troodos Mountains. Winds will change direction, initially blowing from northeast and southeast and later from north to northeast, with a force of 4 Beaufort locally up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will remain up to wavy. The temperature will drop to 8 degrees Celsius inland, around 11 degrees on the coast, and 4 degrees in the mountains, with the possibility of frost. Friday will be partly cloudy with isolated showers, as well as the possibility of snow or sleet in the higher parts of the Troodos Mountains. Saturday will bring local showers and isolated thunderstorms, with snow in the mountains. The weather is expected to improve in the afternoon. Sunday will be partly cloudy, with a gradual rise in temperature.
