Weather Deterioration in Cyprus: Hail and Snow Expected

A deterioration in the weather is expected in Cyprus tonight, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms starting in the west and spreading across the island. Hail is possible during thunderstorms, and snow or sleet is expected in higher mountainous areas. Winds will be northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and the sea will remain rough. The temperature will drop to around 9 degrees Celsius inland, 12 degrees Celsius on the coast, and 4 degrees Celsius in the mountains, where frost is likely to form. Tomorrow, Saturday, the weather will remain mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms, with a possibility of hail and snow in the mountains. Improvement is expected from the afternoon onwards. Winds will remain similar, and the sea will be slightly rough to rough. The temperature will rise to around 15 degrees Celsius inland, 17 degrees Celsius on the coast, and 7 degrees Celsius in the mountains. Saturday evening will see locally increased cloud cover, with light to moderate northeasterly/southeasterly winds. The sea will gradually become slightly rough. Sunday and Monday will be partly cloudy, with a chance of isolated showers, mainly in the mountains. Tuesday is expected to worsen with local showers and thunderstorms. The temperature will remain close to the average climatic values, but significant rainfall is needed to improve the situation of the dams, which are only 11% full.
