Published January 5, 2026, 07:25

The Ministry of Interior has announced the operation of polling stations abroad for the Parliamentary Elections of May 24, 2026, facilitating the exercise of voting rights for Cypriot citizens residing abroad. Registration or transfer of voters to the special electoral register will be possible from January 3, 2026, to April 2, 2026, through an electronic platform or at Embassies/Consulates. The establishment of polling stations depends on the expression of interest from at least 30 voters per electoral district. Based on estimates, polling stations are expected to operate in cities such as Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, London, Manchester and Brussels. Voters can submit a declaration to exercise their voting right abroad either electronically, through the website aps.elections.moi.gov.cy, or in person at designated locations, such as Embassies, Consulates, Provincial Administration Offices, Citizen Service Centers, Cyprus Post Offices and the Ministry of Interior. This process aims to enhance the participation of Cypriot citizens living abroad in national elections, offering them the opportunity to exercise their voting right easily and transparently.
