Volt Cyprus: Outrage over Conditions at Makarios Hospital's Pediatric Oncology Clinic

Volt Cyprus expresses strong concern and outrage over the conditions prevailing at the Pediatric Oncology Clinic of Makarios Hospital, on the day the International Childhood Cancer Day is celebrated. It denounces that these conditions endanger the safety and dignity of children with cancer and their families. According to Volt, during renovation works, drilling noises were heard while children were recovering from surgeries, and there was dust and soil falling in areas where immunocompromised patients were hospitalized. In addition, water leaks and general disruption are reported, further burdening families. The party emphasizes that parents are asking for the obvious: safety, a clean environment, and peace of mind for their children. Although OKYPY acknowledges the justified reactions and has taken measures, Volt notes that when such phenomena are observed, the planning of the works has failed. Volt concludes that when it comes to children with cancer, the bar must be set as high as possible and that real support is not limited to symbolic gestures, but to the daily assurance of a dignified healthcare system.
