Videogate: Two Years of 'Flirting' with the Presidential Office - Series of Contacts with 'Investors' in London and the Netherlands

An 8-minute video posted on the X platform has caused a political storm in Cyprus, as it contains conversations suggesting the existence of "black" political money. The government describes the video as the product of a "hybrid activity" aimed at damaging the credibility of President Christodoulides and Cyprus. According to information, individuals posing as investors from a family fund approached Giorgos Lakkotrypis two years ago, making contacts in London and the Netherlands, and entered into a contract for services for a fee. After the video was made public, the traces of the "investors" disappeared. The government is considering the possibility of foreign involvement, possibly from Russia, while the video differs from Al Jazeera's reporting on "golden passports" as the entire unedited material is not provided.
