A strong earthquake, measuring 6.0 magnitude, struck off the coast of Oregon in the US, causing tremors felt in many cities along the West Coast. The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded an aftershock of 3.1 magnitude and estimates there is a 65% chance of more aftershocks this weekend. The tremors were felt as far as Portland, and the area's tsunami warning system was activated, but no threat was issued.
