US Calls for Restraint in Syria's Aleppo

US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack stated that the recent clashes between Kurdish and Syrian government forces in Aleppo are “deeply concerning” and jeopardize the March 2025 integration agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Damascus government. Barrack called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, cease hostilities immediately, and return to dialogue. This statement underscores the US desire to prevent further destabilization in Syria and promote a political solution. The US has stated its readiness to facilitate cooperation between the SDF and the Syrian government to ensure the smooth completion of the integration agreement. If fully implemented, this agreement could contribute to peace and stability in Syria.
