US Bombed Cocaine Factory in Venezuela, Claims Colombian President

Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated that the United States conducted a bombing raid on a cocaine production facility in the port of Maracaibo, Venezuela. Former US President Donald Trump confirmed a US ground strike in Venezuela, but did not specify the exact location. Petro believes the facility belonged to the National Liberation Army (ELN), a Colombian rebel group operating in the cocaine-producing region near Venezuela. Trump mentioned the strike occurred on a 'beach' where boats were being loaded with drugs. The Venezuelan government has not issued an official statement. The US has been putting significant pressure on Caracas, accusing President Nicolás Maduro of leading a major drug trafficking network, a claim Maduro denies. Approximately thirty US airstrikes have been carried out against vessels allegedly transporting narcotics, resulting in at least 107 deaths in the Caribbean and Pacific.
