UNESCO Continues Syrian Cultural Heritage Protection Program with German-Italian Support

UNESCO will continue its program to protect Syria's cultural heritage with financial support from Germany and Italy. The program includes the protection of archaeological sites such as Aleppo and its museum, combating looting and the illegal trafficking of artworks, and providing training for professionals in the field of cultural heritage. Germany has contributed 500,000 euros and has already funded emergency assistance for the National Museum in Damascus, which houses artifacts from the museums of Aleppo and Palmyra. The new donation will strengthen the exchange of knowledge between experts and promote the training of new professionals in the field of cultural heritage.
