Ukraine Receives Security Guarantees as France and UK Pledge Troop Deployment

Following a meeting in Paris, France and its allies have reached an agreement to provide “strong security guarantees” to Ukraine. The agreement, known as the “Paris Declaration,” is a significant step towards achieving lasting peace, according to French President Emmanuel Macron. As part of the agreement, Britain, France, and Ukraine are committed to deploying troops to Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement. The “Multinational Force for Ukraine” will function as a reassurance force, strengthening security and supporting the country's reconstruction. President Zelenskyy described the Declaration as “very specific” and stated that agreements already exist regarding the participation and contribution of each country. However, Prime Minister Starmer warned that Russian President Putin does not appear ready for peace, pointing to recent attacks on Ukraine.
