UK Sends Additional Forces to Middle East, First Charter Flight Departs

British Prime Minister Kier Starmer announced the deployment of additional military forces to the Middle East, including four Typhoon aircraft to Qatar and Wildcat helicopters to Cyprus, as well as the deployment of HMS Dragon to the Mediterranean. British bases will be used only for defensive purposes, while the US has been authorized to use them for defensive operations. In addition, the departure of the first UK charter flight from the Middle East was announced, aimed at returning British citizens. The flight departed from Oman and was delayed due to "operational issues". Starmer stressed that the government's priority is to protect British citizens and ensure calm and stable leadership. He emphasized that the United Kingdom is seeking a negotiated solution with Iran, but is ready to defend its interests. 4,000 British citizens have already returned home, while the government is closely monitoring the economic impact of the crisis, particularly on oil, gas facilities and shipping.
