UK Boosts Military Presence in Middle East

The United Kingdom is strengthening its military presence in the Middle East by putting the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales on standby for possible deployment to the region. Although the final decision to set sail has not yet been made, the ship's readiness time has been halved to five days, and crews have been notified of possible immediate mobilization. This move is part of a broader strengthening of the British military presence in the region since January. The reinforcement includes the deployment of 400 additional personnel to Cyprus, Typhoon and F-35 aircraft, as well as the installation of air defense systems. The HMS Prince of Wales, one of Europe's most modern warships, along with its sister ship HMS Queen Elizabeth, forms the cornerstone of the United Kingdom's naval power for long-range operations. The ship has a displacement of 65,000 tons and a length of 280 meters and carries F-35 aircraft. The decision to strengthen the military presence in the Middle East comes at a time of increased tension in the region, with concerns about potential conflicts and threats to regional stability. Britain seeks to protect its interests and contribute to crisis prevention.
