UAE Says It Dismantled 'Terror Network' Funded by Iran, Hezbollah

The security authorities of the United Arab Emirates announced that they had dismantled a “terrorist network” allegedly funded and operated by Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran. The network, which operated under the guise of commercial activities, is accused of money laundering, terrorist financing and threatening national security. The Lebanese Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the alleged “terrorist plot” and offered cooperation to bring those responsible to justice. The Lebanese government has already issued a decision prohibiting Hezbollah's military activities. This development comes after a similar incident in Kuwait, where authorities uncovered a group linked to Hezbollah planning acts to undermine national security. Hezbollah denied Kuwait's accusations. The UAE has been subjected to hundreds of attacks on oil facilities, ports and urban areas and has long opposed Islamist groups. The Ministry of Finance of Cyprus is developing scenarios and measures to address potential economic impacts from the war in Iran.
