The spread of foot-and-mouth disease in Cyprus has led to the death of approximately 2,000 sheep and goats, with a total of 13,000 animals expected to be culled. Veterinary Services are rapidly digging burial pits with the assistance of the Forestry Department and the National Guard. Additionally, 33,900 doses of vaccine for cattle have been delivered, and the arrival of 529,000 additional doses from the European Commission is expected for the vaccination of sheep and goats.
