Turkish FM: No Normalization with Israel While 'Genocide' Continues in Gaza

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that there will be no normalization of relations with Israel as long as the “genocide” in Gaza continues. He explained that Ankara has been led to a complete rupture with Israel due to the military operations and the humanitarian crisis prevailing in the region. Fidan recalled that Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize Israel, but the current situation requires a political response. He pointed out that Turkey has repeatedly warned Israel, but to no avail. The Foreign Minister emphasized the tragic humanitarian situation in Gaza, with images of children, women, and the elderly dying from the cold, hunger, and lack of medicine. This blockade of humanitarian aid makes any discussion of normalizing relations impossible. However, Fidan left the possibility of dialogue open in the future, but only if the pressure and oppression against the Palestinians stop and life in the region returns to normal. He also pointed out that Turkey's stance reflects broader international discomfort with the situation in Gaza.
