Turkey Launches Initiative to De-escalate Iran Conflict

Turkey has launched an intensive diplomatic initiative to de-escalate the conflict in Iran, pushing for the resumption of negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is in contact with various regional and international actors, including officials from the US, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, and Pakistan. A proposal for a temporary ceasefire that would open the door to dialogue is on the table. Turkey expresses reservations about Israel's stance, believing it could undermine peace efforts. Ankara seeks to coordinate forces with other partners to exert pressure and find a solution that satisfies both sides, taking into account the concerns of countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia regarding Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz.
